A Façade Grant is being offered by the City of Sanford to owners or tenants of commercial properties on Main Street, downtown Sanford, between Lebanon Street and Roberts Street.  This is an incentive to improve or restore the original character of their buildings.  The buildings must include a commercial space on the first floor.  The maximum grant awarded is $25,000.  A 25% minimum private investment match is required.  This is a federally funded program and the funds are made available through from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
